(NC) NAACP calls on US Attorney General to address Voter ID Bill

GREENVILLE, N.C. -
NAACP leaders are calling on US Attorney General Eric Holder to address the new North Carolina Voter ID bill.
They made that announcement today at a news conference at the NAACP headquarters in Greenville. Tomorrow thirteen rallies are planned across the state, one for each congressional district.
They say they want to expose the "immoral public policy of the general assembly" ...

(45,984 posts)I think the President has the authority to use federal troops. Each state is guaranteed a "republican form of government" and discriminatory voter ID laws don't cut it in 2013.

(145,489 posts)There are some sound legal reasons to file the Texas case first including the fact that there are some existing court rulings that can be used to justify "bail in" under Section 3. I have a feeling that NC will be part of these cases at some point.
