EGYPT MOVES CLOSER TO AL-JAZEERA TV AFFILIATE BAN
Aug. 29 9:49 AM EDT
CAIRO (AP) Egypt's official news agency says the interim government has deemed Al-Jazeera's local affiliate a national threat, moving closer to banning its broadcasts.
The MENA news agency says three government ministers met Thursday and issued a statement saying that Al-Jazeera Mubashir Misr is operating "illegally" and using satellite transmitters without license.
The agency says the ministers allege that the station is resented for spreading "rumors and claims which are harmful to Egyptian national security and threaten the country's unity."
Amid Egypt's current political turmoil after July 3 coup that toppled Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, the channel aired statements by fugitive Islamist leaders. The Qatar-based network also broadcast hours of protests by supporters of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood live across its channels.

(2,730 posts)through the grapevine, but you are just not listening. Note they consider them a National Security threat just like in Syria. It just goes to show you who is really in charge of the military. How many times have I said the Jihad against the secularist Government in Syria was the tipping point for Morsi's removal. Morsi was definately leading the charge in Egypt for the overthrow and intervention within Syria. The same groups in Syria such as the coptic Christians, Druze, Greek orthodox Christians, shites and Alawites supporting Assad are among the groups that supported the overthrow of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. The rebels were massacreing Christians and greek Orthodox priests in Syria. Those murmurs were heard all through the grapevine which alerted these groups.

Tamarrod is calling for an end to US aid and tearing up the Isreal-Egypt peace treaty and screaming about "terrorists."
