He should have taken "no" for an answer.

Police in Mesa, Ariz. arrested a man after his girlfriend said he beat her when she told him she was too sick to have sex.

Jose Perez, 33, is accused of beating the woman shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday after he arrived intoxicated, police said.

According to the victim, Perez threatened to kill her if she called police, so she pretended to go to sleep and snuck over to a neighbor's home when Perez had passed out and phoned the authorities, the Arizona Republic reported.

Don't newspapers and their websites employ copy editors anymore?

Anyway, I hope this guy does some prison time for this. And it goes without saying that this woman needs a new boyfriend.

It's a real word, past tense of 'sneak'. It used to be nonstandard, but Collins/Random House dictionaries certainly list it.

I think that particular battle may have been lost.

There are a number of people bemoaning it in the comments there, though.

Of the male's choosing.

Exactly the attitude that the drunk abuser was displaying.

That post really was not funny and made me uncomfortable.

Creepy and obnoxious?

At best, it is a really thoughtless joke.

At worst, you don't take "no" for an answer and keep pushing, which would be pretty damn despicable.

Look I am totally confused ... A week ago a man beat his wife to death when she said she was divorcing him ... He's an executive at JP MORGAN CHASE and the story was locked moments after I posted it ...

Now one might think an executive at JP MORGAN CHASE who murders his wife down might be news ... not here?

WTF? ... ... This place makes no sense to me at all sometimes ...
