Rep. Peter King fires Republican Cruz missile, says time to 'go after' Ted Cruz 'by name'

Source: Washington Times

Republican Congressman Peter King said Monday it is time to take the gloves off and call out members of his own party by name, after a failed strategy to defund Obamacare appeared to diminish the GOP’s reputation in recent polls.

Mr. King, of New York, said he’s not going to take it anymore and will freely criticize freshman Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, who led the drive to scrap the health care law as a precondition for a spending deal ahead of Oct. 1.

“Ted Cruz and 30 or 40 people in the House. We have to start going after him by name. … It’s really time to speak out against him,” Mr. King told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

It may be the first sane phrase ever uttered by Peter King (R-NY).

Hate Radio is what's gizzing up the crazies. Hate Radio got rid of centrist Republicans and brought in the crazies. Ted Cruz could resign tomorrow and someone just as fucking nuts would replace him.

We can't let them make Cruz the fall guy. They are all to blame, even Peter King.

Cruz is just the latest stink bubble to pop. The whole damned GOP is a lying sack of excrement. Lies beget lies begets more lies until it builds to a crescendo of lunacy.

But while blaming all Repubs is justifiable, maybe blaming just Cruz and "30 or 40 people in the House" is wiser ?

Seems a fair number of older Repubs in House & Senate hate the Pee Tardies but haven't spoken out against them because they're afraid (of what I'm unclear).

Maybe Dems and those older R's could do that "enemy of my enemy is my friend" thang and reach across the aisle ?

(Preferably with a strand of barbed wire they lift to about 4 inches off from the floor just as Cruz walks by ... ?)

Rachel Maddow called out Congressional Republicans for driving the country toward government shutdown.

snip

She said that Republicans are doing the same thing now, except they are trying to pin blame for the situation on Ted Cruz. Maddow continued, "And it is kind of a brilliant idea, because that guy sort of wants to be blamed."

She replayed clips of other Congressional Republicans criticizing Cruz's efforts to get Obamacare defunded in order to avoid a government shutdown.

"Sure, blame it on Ted Cruz, the fraud, shutdown is a terrible idea," she said. "You know what, Peter King, Tom Cole? If you guys think it is such a bad idea to shut down the government, why did you both vote for it? Why did you vote to shut down the government when you got a chance to vote for it last week? The Republican vote for a shutdown was 228-1 and neither of you guys was the one. You guys are voting for it and trying to put the backlash on somebody else."

He represents Long Island, and was already on the shit list because his right wing pals wanted to tell Long Island to suck it up and suffer after hurricane Sandy.

Live by the sword, die by the sword, Pete.

He's one I'd like to see get swept away by all of this, but he's certainly doing his best to avoid it.
