The public trust in our criminal justice system must be upheld at all times, he said.
He said he decided to ask for the special prosecutor after witnesses in the case said this week that they would cooperate with the investigation.

The "Nightmare in Maryville" story from Sunday's Star that brought the case to national attention
The AP identified the victims because they had spoken publicly. But despite the rapists' names being published by the Star
and the LA TIMES this week and local NW Missouri outlets when the boys were arrested, the AP
explained: "The AP is not naming the boys because there are no active charges against them."
I'm not too optimistic. A special prosecutor could not deliver justice for Trayvon. And how is Rice the hypocrite talking about trust in the justice system?
