Central Connecticut State University on lockdown

Central Connecticut State University has issued a campus emergency alert asking all students to seek shelter, all lock doors and close their windows.

"We will communicate when we have more info. This is not a drill," officials tweeted around noon Monday.

The university's website went all white telling students to stay inside and that “police are on the scene.”

It was not immediately clear what emergency is taking place or if there are any injuries reported.

but no suspect was ever found. the suspect was described as wearing black and carrying a gun.
