Georgia GOPer Attacking Free School Lunch Expensed $4,200 In Meals
Source: Talking Points Memo
Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) warned that there's "no such thing as free lunch" for school children in Georgia, but he seems to have enjoyed a few.
An investigation by Georgia's WSAV channel 3 found that Kingston, who is currently running for Senate and recently suggested students work cleaning cafeterias in exchange for lunch, had expensed as much as $4,182 worth of lunches for his office over the past three years.
"Kingston and his staff expensed nearly $4200 in meals for business purposes to his congressional office, paid for by the American taxpayer," WSAV 3's Dan Kartunen reported. The amount could have purchased nearly 2,000 Georgia school lunches.
WSAV also found that Kingston also racked up $4,289 of free meals paid for by third-party groups like the Georgia Bankers Association and the Congressional Institute. Kingston has also travelled to a handful of continents on congressional business racking up $24,313 in costs. Those expenses include more than just meals. What's more, Kingston also expensed $145,391 worth of meals for campaign events.

(2,479 posts)Get used to the shame and being shamed earlier in life--be the poor kids who have to work for their meal, and be ridiculed by the rich, and shut up and enjoy it.
Lately I swear, I am having impure, terrible thoughts about the stuff that is coming out of Republican mouths. They keep us from getting educations, they don't want us to have health care, they are now openly TRYING to create more homeless folks, they want to get rid of unemployment, and don't have a single working plan to actually create jobs.
Their only policy position amounts to, when you boil it down, "Let's give rich people (corporations, also rich people) more money, and the freedom to dump whatever crap they want to into the air, waterways, and water tables." Oh wait, that ship has already sailed into the toxic waters.

(3,596 posts)that poor children that are eligible for subsidized or free lunches should have to pay a dime they don't have or sweep the floor (punishment for being poor), the worst part his his hypocrisy.
The House was in session about 1/3 of the number of days of the average American worker. Claims the other time was spent on investigative missions (in other words free trips paid for by the taxpayers where the objective is to get free stuff, not learn anything) or home in their districts talking to their constituents don't pass the smell test.
This dude claims he works 60 hours a week. At what does he work 60 hours a week? He certainly isn't doing it in the House. Is this when he prostitutes himself for his wealthy donors? Is this when he pleasures his monied benefactors?
He will not be the next Senator from Georgia but he is racing to the bottom of the puke pack to get there.

(18,124 posts)is so money oriented. It's a corrupter. Sad what we've allowed to happen to a fairly good political system. We now have out of control Cruz missiles, randian backward thought, hypocrites and big time liars of all stripes and all under the guise of being "conservative patriots". geez
