Reid Comes Out In Support Of Medical Marijuana

Source: TPM

CAITLIN MACNEAL – JANUARY 16, 2014, 6:49 PM EST

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) told the Las Vegas Sun Thursday that he supports legalizing medical marijuana use.

"If you'd asked me this question a dozen years ago, it would have been easy to answer – I would have said no, because (marijuana) leads to other stuff," he said. "But I can't say that anymore."

Reid says its time to address legalization, as he thinks there are good medical uses for the drug.

"I think we need to take a real close look at this," he said. "I think that there's some medical reasons for marijuana."

Reid comes out with his position on this issue a day late and a dollar short.

Triangulation strikes again.

A johnny-come-lately.

He only takes a position when he feels he can gain. As such, while I agree with him on this, it shouldn't take so long.

People and opinions change. It's the nature of being human.

And thank goodness for that or society would never progress.

It is really amazing--and after so many, years, heartening to see.

All things must pass, and it looks like pot prohibition will soon be one of them.

Considering medical marijuana is already legal in his state.

Nevada has legalized medical cannabis, and last year the state passed a measure establishing a dispensary system to help increase access for sick citizens. According to a recent poll, 56 percent of Nevadans would favor legalizing cannabis for recreational use if the money raised went to fund education.

It is great though that the Majority leader is now on board.

After 1980. Just underground . Then the science and testimonials caught up and surpassed the propaganda with the help of the internet.
