out of over 7 BILLION.

Other countries are taking to the streets .. not us in any kind of significant numbers.

This used to be illegal .. what a sham.

I sure hope Bernie Sanders runs as POTUS, I really believe he will make a difference.

...why don't we sacrifice these 80, take the money, and distribute it to the bottom half?

Sounds logical to me. The added benefit is people wouldn't want want it to make the top 80, so they's spend more or maybe even share more.

9. A great disparity in wealth is often the result of great corruption in government.

"'Oxfam said that India's billionaires acquired their wealth in 'rent thick' sectors – industries where profits are dependent on access to scarce resources – "made available exclusively through government permissions and therefore susceptible to corruption by powerful actors, as opposed to creation of wealth.'"

That is not just a problem in India. It is one of the biggest factors in the growth of the disparity in wealth in the US. Christie is just one example of the corruption in our government at all levels. And Citizens United has not helped one bit.

India has age-old traditions that make economic mobility difficult, but what excuse to we have for modeling India? We know better. We just don't have the political will to elect the most honest candidates.

refraining from the dodging of taxes and avoid using economic wealth to seek political favors."

THIS is THE problem, right here. There is no example of corruption more obvious. It thwarts democracy at its most fundamental level. It has to end before we can focus on truly important issues, like preserving our biosphere.

It appears you've not been available to edit this OP as I suggested. If you will soon let me know you are ready to do that, I will unlock this thread so that you can do so.
