Multiple victims in Western Psych shooting (PA)

Two people are dead, including a person who began shooting inside Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic shortly before 2 p.m., according to Paul Wood, a spokesman for UPMC, who was briefed by police at the scene.

At least five additional people have been shot at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC. The building has been secured, Mr. Wood said, and earlier reports of a second shooter were incorrect. All the injured victims were taken to UPMC Presbyterian , he said.

"What we're worrying about right now is patient care and taking care of all the wounded people," Mr. Wood said.

A University of Pittsburgh police officer was grazed in the leg, officials said.

the 2nd amendment has been so twisted and distorted in the minds of gun lovers it hurts us all in the end. It's called "reaping the whirlwind."

Makes no sense that guns should be allowed in schools, churches, restaurants and anywhere on the streets. We are truly an uncivilized society where up is down, and right is wrong.

It's a slippery slope. If you ban guns in nut houses, next will come McDonalds', schools, day care centers, cemeteries, private residences, parks, etc. Pretty soon we'll be Norway, with National Health care and a measly 100 gun deaths per year.

6. The shooter was shot by a University of Pittsburgh campus police officer

not by city police per KDKA News. That officer was grazed by a bullet, but is expected to be OK.
