Thousands across U.S. try to sway Brewer on SB 1062

Gov. Jan Brewer’s office has been flooded with more than 20,000 e-mails, letters and phone calls from Arizonans and people across the nation trying to influence her decision on the divisive right to refuse service legislation.

Brewer, who has until late Saturday to make her decision on Senate Bill 1062, is meeting privately today with people on both sides of the debate.

The Republican governor has not said publicly how she will act. But her recent statements seem to indicate a veto is imminent.

“I assure you, as always, I will do the right thing for the State of Arizona,” a tweet posted to her official Twitter account said late Tuesday.

7. To me it looks like she will let it become law without her signature. No way she will go against

the base of the GOP (and much of their leadership).

8. It's becoming farcical the way the media will try to squeeze suspense out of anything.

Of course, the bill will be vetoed. Anyone who thinks it won't be has been snookered into the media-fueled "suspense" meant only to sell papers or get people to watch or listen to advertising. Enough already!

9. The thing I find amazing about this

is that the sounds of dissent coming from the business community in AZ all complain about how this will hurt business. I really do not hear anyone complaining that it is just flat WRONG!
Basically, AZ (repubs) is concerned not about doing the wrong thing, but of pissing off their business supporters.

Do you want the Koch Brothers' companies opining on the appropriateness of abortion rights? Do you want Walmart to weigh in on the social impacts of liberal divorce laws?
