Conservative leader caught on live mic: ‘The Jews are the problem’
By Arturo Garcia
Friday, March 7, 2014 18:36 EST

Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin (retired), the executive vice president of the conservative Family Research Council, was caught on a “hot mic” on Thursday joking that “the Jews are the problem” to an Israeli reporter and pitching his theory about President Barack Obama using “subliminal messages” to signal support for al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood, in audio posted by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) on Friday.

“If you understand anything about Islam, there are subliminal messages,” Boykin can be heard saying. “His message, really, I believe was, ‘I understand you, and I support you.’”

Boykin’s remarks were captured after an online broadcast of a panel at the National Security Action Summit. The SPLC reported that the event is held as a counter to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), and features speakers who, like Boykin, have not been allowed to participate there.

because he doesn't support 100% of Netanyahu's policies.

This dickhead General was the same one who 10 years ago said that God chose George W. Bush to be the president.

Says something about the conservative, right-wing element in our military-he and Col. West. I believe this ass wipe got into problems a while back when he was making his off the wall comments dressed in his military garb which I understand is frowned on in the military.

How scary that a person like this is trusted to lead our young soldiers and have access to all kinds of weapons. How many more like him are serving as generals in the US military?

Reporter. It's like when James Carville was asked about an Israeli election on which he consulted and he said the key was turning out the Jewish vote.

The reason the Israelis don't get mad at a crack like that from Boykin is because he is as pro-Israel as they come. His position is that the President doesn't support Israel sufficiently and that the President's words are subliminal support to Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.

I was puzzling over that, myself. Surely, if this guy was going to diss Jews, he'd definitely not do so to an Israeli reporter!

It is not clear if he said it to the reporter (religion unknown) or not. He said to someone, after being asked to do a 2 minute interview. The sound is very difficult to hear and the din doesn't help. While your analysis about his opinion of the president is correct, the rest of it is unsubstantiated opinion.

But conservatives don't have a problem telling Black folks, "Black folka are the problem", too. Should I take that as a joke, as well?

{But I get your "as pro-Israeli as they come" point ... that might be the difference.}

..is because they need the support of idiots like Boykin and the Christian Right! The Israelis realize that their support among liberal groups isn't that good...so they cultivate a relationship with the Christian conservatives, like the FRC and Boykin.

Boykin and his ilk feign support for Israel based on their delusional religious beliefs...and the Israelis know this.

Jokes like this, are about as funny as burning a cross!!!

Looks like the Republican Family Research Council VP, spokesman Boykin has a "non-subliminal" message- "the Jews are the problem".

What does that say about the conservative movement in general?
Who is more foolish, the fool (Boykin) or the fools that follow him (Family Research Council members)?
