NEW YORK (AP) - L'Wren Scott, who left her small-town Utah home as a teenager to become a model in Paris, then a top Hollywood stylist and finally a high-end fashion designer best known as the longtime girlfriend of Mick Jagger, has died in what was being investigated as an apparent suicide.
Scott was found dead in her Manhattan apartment at 10 a.m. Monday; no note was found and there was no sign of foul play, police said. The designer had texted her assistant 90 minutes earlier and asked her to come to her apartment but didn't say why. She was found kneeling with a scarf wrapped around her neck that had been tied to the handle of a French door, police said.
Her spokesperson requested privacy for her family and friends. Just last month Scott, who was believed to be 49 but had not disclosed her precise age, canceled her London Fashion Week show, due to reported production delays.
Jagger's representative said the singer was "completely shocked and devastated by the news" of her death.

(5,917 posts)aborted children don't get even that and their lives are ended by someone else's decision. btw I doubt she killed herself over her adoption it is probably more about the 6 million she's in debt.

(19,053 posts)To those who dismiss the experience of adoptees with drivel about "well, at least you weren't aborted" and "they had a much better life then they could have with a poor unmarried girl", I say Donald Trump is sending a car to your house for your children. They will be grateful because at least they weren't aborted and they'll have more money.

(19,053 posts)Debunking OBC Access Myths and Fears; Abortion Rates Will Go Up
By Claudia Corrigan DArcy | March 16, 2014 | Adoptee Rights, Adoption Research & Statistics
~snip~
Protecting the Poor Birthmothers Who Are Afraid!
Seriously, I am getting tired of writing about this.
1.The historical date and research does not hold up that the majority of mother fear contact with adult adoptees. The number is less than 1% when given the choice to allow adoptees OBC access.
2.The promises that were given by adoption attorneys were in fact, lies.
3.The actual surrender documents prove that there were no legal promises and in truth, the BIRTHMOTHERS were told to stay away.
4.DNA and social media searches both make any concept of privacy null anyway .
But then, even with all that we still have the big deep fear of all fears: allowing a group of already alive people receiving access to their legal documents will somehow increase abortions.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS
"All abortions are done to children" - that is highly inflammatory and very hurtful and insensitive to DUers who have had abortions (a legal medical procedure, by the way).
