Mo. House panel to consider impeaching governor

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Republican-led Missouri House committee plans to hold a hearing on measures seeking to impeach Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon.

The Wednesday hearing on three separate impeachment resolutions includes one citing Nixon's decision to allow same-sex couples who married legally in other states to file joint tax returns in Missouri. Another measure criticizes the governor for the amount of time he took to call a special election to fill legislative vacancies.

The final measure to be considered by the Judiciary Committee would impeach Nixon for his refusal to fire state officials involved with the Revenue Department's decision last year to scan driver's license applicants' personal documents into a computer system.

One of the items for impeachment is because he allows married gays to file a joint state return?

This take the prize for pettiness. I mean how much state income tax are we talking about there? It's not like they would be relieved of paying taxes altogether, they would just save perhaps a couple hundred bucks on their state return in April, a deduction that I assume is valid on their federal return. This has nothing to do with revenue, and everything to do with blatant bigotry and partisanship.

Any articles of impeachment that follow must be viewed as equally specious. I can only assume that the next in line for the Governor's Mansion is a republican.

The only reason they haven't tried to impeach or lynch our Governor is he is a tard too.

But they passed a law this year that made clear they hate the ACA and even made it a criminal offense for any state employee or agency to facilitate or in any way assist with the implementation of the law. That means if someone comes into a state unemployment or other office designed to help people and complains they haven't been feeling well, etc. the state employee cannot even suggest they access the federal exchange to see about getting insurance so they can see a doctor. That is how "unchristian" the pukes are here.

Then there is the new gun law that allows someone to carry a concealed gun just about anywhere except on college campuses. Police are prohibited from asking anyone to see their concealed carry permit even if they suspect the person of planning a crime. People caught attempting to take firearms through airport security cannot be prosecuted. I pointed out that that is not a state law but a federal law and even if the local police cannot arrest you I suspect the surveillance cameras will enable federal authorities to ID you and they'll send a federal marshall to your home or place of business.

Next they are allowing a vanity plate with the confederate battle flag on it.

I will be so glad when I reach retirement and can flee this hell hole.
