Koch Brothers Group Wipes Cliven Bundy Support From Social Media Accounts

Sam Stein
The Huffington Post

WASHINGTON -- Americans for Prosperity Nevada, the state affiliate of the Koch Brothers-backed group, appears to have hastily deleted social media posts expressing support for Cliven Bundy, the renegade rancher who exposed himself as a racist in recent press conferences.

A tweet sent by AFP Nevada on April 10 urging followers to read more about the #BundyBattle, which involves Bundy's refusal to pay fines for allowing his cattle to graze on public land, has been deleted. A Facebook graphic that the group posted criticizing the Bureau of Land Management for enforcing grazing laws against Bundy has similarly disappeared.

Previously, the page read: "The BLM spent HOW MUCH to round up cattle? ONE MILLION DOLLARS." As of Friday afternoon, it reads: "This content is currently unavailable"

AFP Nevada, a anti-government, libertarian organization, did not immediately return a request for comment. But the group is the latest to join the massive, frantic stampede of political organizations and media figures distancing themselves from Bundy in the wake of his comments. Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Dean Heller (R-Nev.) both condemned the rancher's remarks, and various Fox News personalities called them repugnant as well.

I think its a little too late in my book, damage has already been done. The Republicans have basically given up on the Latino vote, the Women vote, the Senior vote, the minority vote, and now, many left or even right leaning independents, who are for civil rights and who lean for far taxation may not go right either......we can only hope....

I think we're swiftly coming to one of those pendular-cycle changes that the US periodically experiences (the last one was almost imperceptible, but involved the Democrats handing over all their racists and war-hawks while picking up all the progressives from 1948-1976).

Or another way to put it is that conservatives forgave the Republicans for freeing the slaves and wrecking the South, because the Republicans were willing to adopt racism, polarization and hate as their political cornerstone.

And hatred has taken the GOP a long, long way, of late. It's allowed them to gerrymander dozens of states, and that is why Republicans still have a presence in Congress even though they've killed off a good chunk of their support base, three to five elections sooner than anyone guessed they would.

From the Republican point of view, their voters have been practicing a form of "adverse selection" for over a decade. They were the first to vote to go to war and to take away the rights of gays--and in so doing, lost their jobs, their homes, their benefits, their pensions and their savings, and the GOP fought tooth and nail to make sure those victims fucking died instead of recovered during the term of a black President.

Those idiots are never coming back from their new and shallow graves. So each Republican election theft attempt from now on will become more transparent and less easy to make stick. The GOP race to the bottom has brought forth the trogs who cannot discuss the structure of modern society because their stupid beliefs prevent good understanding of it, so Republicans will continue to die younger, faster and poorer than the politically informed.

What that really means, to us, is that very soon the money and the corruption that floats with it will begin coming to us, and the Democrats are going to have to redouble their (quite good so far) efforts to police themselves and force the sociopaths to turn elsewhere. Either we figure out how to keep criminals out, or we shall be the Republicans and a few short decades.

And they are doing it for their fascist puppet masters like Koch Industries. Interesting that no news media picked up on that major hypocrisy.

http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/08/28/3145187/officials-ok-rule-to-force-fracking.html

Officials OK rule to force fracking on NC landowners

RALEIGH — North Carolina landowners would be forced to sell the natural gas under their homes and farms – whether they want to or not – under a fracking recommendation approved Wednesday that’s expected to be enacted by the state legislature this fall.

The proposal by a state study group endorses a rarely used 1945 law that’s never been tried here on the kind of scale that would be required for shale gas exploration, or fracking. Thousands of property owners could potentially be affected in the state’s gas-rich midsection in Lee, Moore and Chatham counties.

The recommendation, dealing with one of the most emotional fracking issues, bypasses the N.C. Mining and Energy Commission, which holds regular public hearings on protecting the public and safeguarding the environment, and goes to the legislature.

“We are talking about a for-profit industry taking away personal freedoms with the blessing of the government,” Therese Vick, a community activist with the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League, told the Compulsory Pooling Study Group. “Personal freedoms are seldom on the radar when the gas companies come to town.”

well, too boring it seems too many. Maybe try posting it again as an OP? I found it not surprising, but very troubling at the same time.

Too many Americans snooze. Then however as one of my friends says, how do you really go against this, we campaign, we rally the vote, we vote and it continues. We think we are organized, but I call it casual organization ... the problem is those that push this crap are well oiled, powerful and highly monied machines, and MSM darlings.

Maybe one day masses of Americans will wake up. One of the chief problems is, and I guess it's human nature, far too many snooze as the other guy's problem 'till it smacks them in the nose too, then they say WTF how can this be happening, and then it's too late.

That said, we have to keep pushing forward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

who, at the age of nineteen, designed a law suit that at its first trial took out thirty-one IRS employees in one burst. At twenty-three he had perished in action. Pursued by BLM bureaucrats while flying over the Potomac with important House committee subpoenas, he had weighted his body with his machine gun and leapt out of the helicopter into deep water, papers and all -- an end, said The Koch Brothers, which it was impossible to contemplate without feelings of envy.

going back and trying to erase them later generally does not work. Sadly it works both ways. In politics lies often stick and can't be erased, the best one to my mind is swiftboating.

The Koch's are horrible, look at what they've done to Kansas, and they want that for all of America. They are un-American creatures. I hope Americans long remember what these RW fools said and don't fall for them trying to erase it all.

Or, as I used to hear in DC from time to time, "you can't outrun a good smear."

That's because the smear travels farther and to more people than the response, and truth or falsehood has little influence over the end results.

There is a second component, however, which is that the victim has to help things along by screaming, "that's not true!"

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021469106

In hindsight I still feel very confident in most of the assertions I made in this post-debate analysis. The backfire effect is real and it only works against the people who are committed to doing the right thing.

So we have to find a different way to deal with these guys. I have no idea what it can be.
