DETROIT -- General Motors is telling dealers to halt delivery of all 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze sedans because of a potential airbag problem, hampering sales of the companys top-selling car amid an end-of-the-month sales push.
Some of the cars may have a "suspect" driver's side airbag inflator module, according to a stop-delivery order sent to Chevy dealers nationwide on Tuesday and obtained by Automotive News.
"The inflator module may have been assembled with an incorrect part," the notice reads.
The stop-delivery order marks the latest safety-related setback for GM, which already has issued 44 recalls this year covering 20 million vehicles globally. That figure counts some vehicles more than once because they've been called back for multiple repairs.

(27,137 posts)...that what's really good for America is not General Motors, but General Motors recalls. Although I must say I'm in no way surprised at this. GM killed mass transit, then they killed the electric car.
- I guess it's our turn now......

(31,207 posts)and got away with screwing consumers in all types of ways. Current management knows it's operating under a magnifying glass and faces incredibly tough competition as well. To think GM operates in the same manner as they did 60 years ago -- even 10 years ago -- is short-sighted.

(7,099 posts)They dumped all this on Mary Barra and glided away with their golden parachutes. And if I had to wager I'd bet that a few of the good old boys are having a chuckle at sticking GM's first woman CEO with this mess they made.

(49,212 posts)My Chevy is 48 years old. If one car on the lot at the local dealer is running in 24 years, let alone 48, I'd be amazed.
