(Reuters) - A Malaysian passenger airliner with 295 people on board crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border, Interfax cited an aviation industry source as saying on Thursday.

It said the Boeing plane was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. Reuters could not immediately confirm the Interfax report.

They say it may have been shot down by a BUK anti-aircraft missile.

NATO calls that an SA-11 or SA-17.

Damn.

They shot down another plane a few days ago so this wouldn't surprise me.

Russia is about to lose a lot of credibility today.

As are the rebel sympathizers.

But again we have video of a high altitude airliner being shot down and Russia disclaimed responsiblity. So only the rebels can be blamed for this.

Seeing a lot of damage control on twitter by DU's favorite Putin apologists...
