A ‘range of options’ under discussion to combat Islamic State

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: Wash. Post

The Obama administration is considering seeking congressional authorization for military action against the Islamic State under a revamped counterterrorism strategy President Obama announced last year.

A mandate from Congress could provide domestic legal justification for the unlimited use of force against the Sunni Muslim group across Iraq and Syria, a senior administration official said. Congress last formally authorized such action in 2001, against al-Qaeda and its associates, and 2002, against Iraq under Saddam Hussein.

The new authorization is one of several alternatives under active internal discussion as the administration grapples with whether and how to try to militarily defeat the Islamic State, which controls a wide swath of territory between Damascus and Baghdad.

The “range of options” for direct use of the U.S. military includes temporary authority under the War Powers Resolution, constitutional authority for emergency action to protect U.S. citizens, and “having that discussion with Congress” about a more open-ended authorization to combat the Islamic State, the official said.

"There is no way this involvement will grow into another Iraq war, that just won't happen this time. Let me add, with complete certainty, this time there will be no American boots on the ground!"

(sigh)

over the recent past. Iraqi President Maliki told American to get OUT of Iraq after the Phase I of the Bush War ended and NO OIL Contracts for American Companies.

Recently, Kurdish Officials of the north parts of Iraq have made contracts with companies like Exon-Mobil for oil in oil fields in north parts of Iraq. Kurdish officials want to be paid for tanker full of oil sitting off the TEXAS coast, right now. Iraqi government in Baghdad is demanding the profits go to the legal government of Iraq. An American Judge will decide.

Is it not shocking that the Oil Wells, in the area controlled by ISIS, have not been taken out by ISIS? Looks to me like the real reason for air strikes is to protect oil wells AGAIN so new oil contracts from foreign countries can remain productively producing oil for profits for northern Iraq.

ISIS brutal murders of Syrians, Iraqis, and threatening to kill American oil field people using journalist as a scapegoat, are being used again by World Wealthy Fascists to Reignite the Bush Oil Wars in Iraq and now Syria. Oil contracts in Syria are needed for money to rebuild and fund the newly forming Caliphate. Wars like this have been going on for thousands of years. And now religious sect of Islam can be a cover in my opinion.

Americans are being deceived again. For this phase of the Bush War, I would call it Verbal Deceit instead of the 2002-03 Out-right lie. In my opinion, in the future, the Bush War will be renamed the Obama Wars (plural) when Obama puts boots on the ground. Anyone notice how War Hawks have gone silent lately?

In my opinion, America does NOT need Middle East Oil.

So we arm ISIS to fight the Syrian Government, then ISIS uses the weapons to take out Iraq and if they can just get the Pakistani scientists out of US captivity, ISIS can use the bios they found in Syria. And now the US goes back into Iraq and Syria to fight a war they have NO possibility of winning with troops too tired for anything.

Meanwhile, we are preparing more sanctions against Russians for delivering humanitarian aid to Ukraine, a country controlled by a Candy Maker who takes his marching orders from the West and uses neo Nazis to ethnic cleanse.

And on the home front, we kill black people at will for nothing other than attempted surrender to a fascist cop.

And down South we have thousands of people sneaking in from Mexico, a country where drug lords are decapitating women then cutting their arms off, because we have no immigration policy yet we need more people to work for next to nothing so we get their social security money because we stole what was already accumulated to fight wars for oil so our oligarchs can have 300 million dollar homes and own our politicians.

God Bless America. God Bless President Obama.

All they are is glorified cops for the oilmen. Nothing all-American about any of it.
