Russia and China launch gas pipeline
Source: BBC
Russia and China have begun the construction of a new gas pipeline linking the countries, with a ceremony in the Siberian city of Yakutsk.
China's CNPC has agreed to buy $400bn (£240bn) of gas from Russia's Gazprom.
Russia will ship 38 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas annually over a period of 30 years.
The deal will lessen Russia's dependence on European buyers, who have imposed economic sanctions because of the crisis in Ukraine.
The construction ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladmir Putin and Chinese Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli.

(34,661 posts)alinement. Better get use to it. All the talking heads will spin the crap out of this. McGrumpy and his guy pal,Little Lindsey will want to bomb the hell out China and Nuke Russia. Watch Wall Street crap a brick, thinking the public will buy the B.S.propaganda their going pump out. Seems like this was in the cards for some time. China is in a state of flux. Signs of financial collapse are hanging over it. Vacant Cities, corrupt Banking deals and bad loans, now cheaper for the 1%ers to make things in USA and save the freight and currency exchange grief.
For all of the knuckle-draggers,lots of hand wringing and screaming, but, shit happened and they don't have a clue. Thanks to our Foreign Policy being dictated by the Military Industrial Complex, this is what happened. Deeply worry about coming generations, mine really screwed the pooch on this for the sake of the all mighty buck. And so it goes.

The financial powers that be want it all, and they certainly do not want competition.
But the fact that we now base our entire economic wellbeing on a hedgemonic dollar makes things desperate.
It is our own fault. We wanted something for nothing and hollowed out our dollar at the same time that we sold off our lead in industry.

(11,014 posts)(US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Australia) bullying smaller countries with economic sanctions are fast coming to an end.
A point came in the mid 20th century where the world had had enough of Britain. Now it is fast becoming apparent that the world has had enough of the US and its Machiavellian games around the world.
Once an alternative to SWIFT is established and other currencies are hedged with a basket, the petrodollar will come to an end. There will be no way to impose sanctions then. I mean, they may still be imposed but will be empty & futile.
