Obama Authorizes Sending Additional Troops To Iraq

Source: The Huffington Post

President Barack Obama has authorized a State Department request for additional troops in Iraq.

Obama ordered 350 additional military personnel be sent to Iraq "to protect our diplomatic facilities and personnel in Baghdad," according to a Tuesday statement by Press Secretary Josh Earnest. The statement notes that the troops will not be serving in a combat role upon arrival.

The authorization, according to the statement, will allow for some military personnel to leave Iraq, while reenforcing security for U.S. personnel and facilities there.

"This action was taken at the recommendation of the Department of Defense after an extensive interagency review, and is part of the President's commitment to protect our personnel and facilities in Iraq as we continue to support the Government of Iraq in its fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant," the statement reads.

Then why are they there if not to fight ISIS. If ISIS attacks the U.S. personnel there the additional troops will be forced to fight. Can all the U.S. personnel just come home?

This looks much like how most US wars start out. Send in a few advisers, then more, then more again, then you have to fight the enemy, so you send in more to protect the fighting personnel there. Eventually, war is declared. Rinse, repeat.

The idea that a Brit is doing the beheading underlines how easy infiltration would be for these barbarians. It hits us where we live. EVIL

But however bad they are, the US would make things worse, with its enormous firepower.

And counting.

Pentagon press secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby said the new detachment would increase the total number of U.S. troops “augmenting diplomatic security in Iraq” to about 820.

It won't be long before there are over 1000.
