Wisconsin GOPer Drops Out Of Race Over 'F*gs' And 'N*ggers' Tweets

Source: TPM

A Wisconsin Republican dropped out of the race for a seat on the state assembly on Tuesday after he admitted that he made offensive comments about gay and black people on social media, according to The Gazette.

Jacob Dorsey, a 19-year-old candidate challenging Democratic state Rep. Deb Kolste, apologized last week for referring to gay people as "fags" in a tweet.

In December 2013, Dorsey tweeted "fags need 2 leave my favorite state alone" after a judge decided not to stay the ruling that struck down Utah's gay marriage ban, according to the NOManiancs blog.

<...>

In comments on YouTube videos, he used the words "fags" and "niggers." In one comment he said "Niggers trash cars. I'm not selling my town car to one..." according to NOManiac's screenshots, which were also posted on the Janesville Community Facebook page.

Republicans in all their glory.

Of course they have to conceal their true beliefs, but occasionally they let slip.

And perhaps as a broad demographic it is true, I don't know. But from my personal exposure as a parent of teenagers -- not so much. Again though, it likely varies by geography, income, parents' education level, etc. Here in rural red-ville, you still hear a lot of bigotry from all ages.

something similar to the farm club system in baseball. This guy made it to the "Rookie League" by running for office, but strikes out in his first at bat. Were he to have been elected and put in his time, he might be good enough for "AA" or even "AAA".

Spend some more time, keep your real thoughts to yourself, and you could eventually make it to the "Big Show", where power/money/influence will provide protection and ensure you have a pleasant stay.

It's a vetting process with little downside for them. They tossed this one to the ash heap and are looking for a refund.

Dorsey withdrew from the race and will return to school at Brigham Young University-Idaho, from which he took a semester off to campaign for state assembly.

"I have decided to withdraw from the race due to insensitive remarks that have surfaced from years past," he said in a statement to The Gazette. "This race has been extremely hard on my family and myself."

In a statement to The Gazette, the Republican Party of Rock County denounced Dorsey's remarks and said they requested that the party's contribution to his campaign be returned.

"His comments have no place in our political discourse," the party said in the statement. "The party was unaware of his comments when he announced his candidacy in May and when it provided a financial contribution to his campaign."

I think it is not too much of a leap to lump ALL Republicans together. If one of them says it, they might as well all said it.
How can I speak in such a generality and claim guilt by association? Easily, look at their voting records. In there days of hyper partisan politics, they all vote in lockstep. This is how they have passed their draconian laws in various states where they control legislatures and how they have filibustered the country over 400 times since Obama was elected.

So since they all vote the same….. .they should ALL be held accountable for what ANY ONE of them says.
