Mark Fuller attorney mum on client's future as 4 more Congressmen call for judge's resignation

The attorney for an Alabama federal judge involved in a domestic violence case isn't saying if his client will resign, even as calls for him to step down increase.
Attorney Barry Ragsdale declined comment to AL.com Thursday on the future of U.S. District Judge Mark Fuller, who was arrested Aug. 9 on domestic violence charges involving his wife. Ragsdale told the AP Fuller is working through the complaint process initiated by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals following his arrest, a process that could end in a reprimand or a court request for his resignation.
The case has drawn national attention and comparisons to football star Ray Rice's recent arrest on domestic violence charges.
Meanwhile, three more members of the Alabama Congressional delegation are calling for Fuller's resignation.
Reps. Robert Aderholt, Mo Brooks, Spencer Bachus and Bradley Byrne said Fuller should resign immediately. Their comments come as Sens. Richard Shelby and Jeff Sessions, as well as Reps. Martha Roby, R-Montgomery, and Terri Sewell, D-Birmingham, said the 55-year-old judge should step down from the bench.

This wife-beating ASSHAT of a federal judge helped railroad Gov. Don Siegelman.

(14,531 posts)the judge thought that his buddies in the legislature would back him up for the judicial favors he gave them, concerning Siegelman.
The judge should not resign, his ass should be impeached, disbarred, fired. No cushy retirement for a man who beat his wife so bad she was hospitalized.

(31,849 posts)but neither impeachment, disbarment, nor firing (for non-job related crimes), will prevent him from collecting on his pension, assuming he has vested.
And I'm not sure I would be in favor of denying him a pension (again, assuming he has vested) that he has earned over the years because to do so, just means the tax payers will have to provide for him in safety net services.
I just hope his (hopefully) soon to be ex-wife gets 1/2+ of that pension payment.

(3,063 posts)I had originally thought impeachment.
But upon reading your post resigning and the wife getting
half after she divorces him is a much more fitting punishment.
