Foley Blames Copied Language In His Urban Plan On 'Sloppy Staff Work'
Source: Hartford Courant
Under attack from Gov. Dannel P. Malloy who gave him an "F for new ideas" and accused him of plagiarism Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley blamed his campaign staff Thursday for copying language from Internet sources into an urban policy proposal that he released a day earlier..
"The insertion of language that was taken from other sources was the result of sloppy staff work during the preparation of the plan language that captured the ideas Tom was proposing but which should have been worded differently or attributed," Foley campaign spokesman Chris Cooper said Thursday.
"Tom believes in all of the ideas in his urban plan and has said from the beginning that he would rely on the best ideas and proposals, including models that have worked in other states, to help turn around our cities," Cooper said.
Cooper's comments came after Malloy unprompted by reporters mentioned the plagiarism issue Thursday afternoon during an appearance in East Hartford to discuss education policy.

(7,638 posts)He is basically saying he could not manage his campaign staff. Why would voters trust him to manage the entire state executive branch which i am sure is much bigger than his campaign staff.
