Khorasan leader killed by U.S. air strike in Syria last week, Al-Qaida member tweets

Source: Haaretz

SITE monitoring service said Mohsin al-Fadhil was killed on Sunday, following several days of uncertainty over whether he survived a raid on September 23.

REUTERS - A Twitter account run by an Al-Qaida member said the leader of the Al-Qaida-linked Khorasan group was killed in a U.S. air strike in Syria, SITE monitoring service said on Sunday, following several days of uncertainty over whether he survived the raid.

A U.S. official on September 24 said the United States believed Mohsin al-Fadhli, a senior Al-Qaida operative, had been killed in a strike a day earlier, but the Pentagon said several hours later that it was still investigating what had happened to him.

In a message posted on Sept. 27, the jihadist offered condolences for the death of Kuwaiti-born Fadhli, otherwise known as Abu Asmaa al-Kuwati or Abu Asmaa al-Jazrawi, following the September 23 air strike, SITE reported.

U.S. officials have described Khorasan as a network of seasoned Al-Qaida fighters with battlefield experience mostly in Pakistan and Afghanistan that is now working in league with Al-Qaida's Syrian affiliate, the Nusra Front.

and that this is just confirmation that their strike was successful.

I don't think they pretend that a leader is dead but who knows.

Do you know if there is a case where a leader's death was faked? For instance was there any attempt to take the heat off of Bin Laden by implying he was dead?

and how Al Nusra (Al Quaida in Syria) was supportive of the civilians blah blah.

They knew that this guy was martyred and were pissed off.

That is the part of the "Syrian Opposition" that's been funded by Whahabbi $, the not so secular bunch.

I hope this strategy continues until all terror initiators and supporters at the highest level are killed.

How about Pakistani generals and ISI?
