Democrats: Vote or we'll kick your ass

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by greatauntoftriplets (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: New York Post

Democrats are telling voters that they had better head to the polls — or else.

The New York State Democratic Committee is bullying people into voting next week with intimidating letters warning that it can easily find out which slackers fail to cast a ballot next Tuesday.

“Who you vote for is your secret. But whether or not you vote is public record,” the letter says.

“We will be reviewing voting records . . . to determine whether you joined your neighbors who voted in 2014.”

If you're in the center city, it can be safely assumed you're a Democrat. If you're in a McMansion out near the country club, the Republicans have your ticket.

If you haven't voted, you haven't supported your presumed party.

Not that the party would do anything with it -- but even to imply that they're going to be calling and asking you why you didn't support them is remarkably shitty.

From the TPM story--"New York voters have been receiving very sinister letters from their state's Democratic Party."

The party hasn't disavowed it, and it would be outright, prosecutable fraud if it came out under their name without authorization. Not even Republicans are that dumb.

Please vote, even if the headline election is between two crooks, a Republican Koch addict and Andrew Cuomo. Even in New York, there's more to vote for than that.

This is probably not a false flag, although it sounds like a similar ploy to the GOP mailer in Kansas. Democrats have been using a kind of reverse psychology ("don't bother voting -- the Republicans have won&quot , hoping it's going to get people to vote. If Democrats come out and vote, it will be in spite of that and not because of that. Good grief, Terry McAuliffe is busy being governor of Virgina and the Democratic campaign machinery can still find ways to lose elections that they should win. Democrats, pay no attention to those idiots behind the curtain: get out and vote.

It's just another part of how corrupt this country has become. Part of what it says is,

"Who you vote for is always a secret but whether you participate in a election is public record. Official offices make available the list of who voted and who didn't vote after each election".

This came from the state's democratic party, poor grammar included.

I've never known a Democrat who can be intimidated to do anything! When I first joined the party years ago after being disillusioned by Reagan, I was invited to my first state convention by our local rep. I was prepared for the smiling, head nodding, Stepford wife smiles I was used to seeing at repub events. At the first morning breakfast, a "spirited" discussion ensued, and even though no dishes were thrown, some folks ducked as if in joyful preparation. It was then that I understood Will Roger's comment... "I don't belong to an organized political party; I'm a Democrat."

That's when I knew I was in the right place!!

"Kick your ass" is just a form of gentle persuasion, and I doubt any true Dem will be kept away from the polls by this threat.
