having a rheumatic heart or something. My mom has a bad heart due to rheumatic fever and I seem to remember it being mentioned about him - because of my moms condition I related to it.

Peace to him and his family, whatever the outcome.

It was possibly drug-related. Although he had a heart condition, he was addicted to some drug. He'd dated that famous actress, Pam...what's her name? She was on the TV show Dallas. She finally gave him an ultimatim....her or drugs. He apparently couldn't give up the drugs.

I saw her interviewed on Larry King. I totally understood why she had dropped him. It was after his death, and she was unable to speak about that. She really did care for him (love him?), although he was a lot younger, and altho cute, I viewed her as more sophisticated, so I didn't get what she saw in him (except, well, you know! Judging from what I saw in all those tight pants, the Bee Gee brothers were all fairly well endowed, it looked like.)

And I did think she was a pretty good actress.

I just went over to Wikipedia, and it turns out she's a big contributor to environmental causes. Not doing much in the way of acting now, which is a shame. I'd like to see more older women on tv.

Andy went to rehab at Betty Ford in the mid-1980s; he died five days after his 30th birthday of an inflammation of the heart -- caused by a viral infection.

Robin Gibb's twin brother, Maurice, died in 2003 of complications from a twisted intestine.

Robin has had colon cancer, which apparently spread to his liver.

So sad.

Yeah, if you hate disco you hate disco, but they were well-put-together songs, with fancy chord progressions and everything. So a whole generation thought the late-seventies Bee Gees WERE the Bee Gees. Kind of like judging the Stones only for stuff after Goat's Head Soup.

The youngest brother, Andy, died years ago (drugs & heart condition).

This is so sad. The passing of an era. How sad for the remaining brother, Barry, who is the oldest one.

34. His last album "Titanic Requiem"
Sat Apr 14, 2012, 11:49 PM

is a musical representation of the sinking of the Titanic 100 years ago. The work (it's classical) premiered last Tuesday April 10th. But Robin had to miss the premiere of his own album because he was too sick. Seems he was always fascinated with the Titanic and that is what led him to do the album.

One song from the album, sung by Robin is called "Don't Cry Alone". I keep thinking about the only brother that would be left - Barry - and hoping he doesn't have to:

No idea who did the video or who the woman is in it - perhaps a Titanic survivor. Anyway, it's a poignant song for this moment - the 100-year anniversary of the horrible event Robin made his last album about - and he's in a coma with pneumonia.

Life - and death - is well, strange.
