SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) — A San Francisco Bay Area man accused of shooting at two police officers has been apprehended after a lengthy manhunt in a neighborhood.
South San Francisco police said they arrested Ivan DeJesus Gomez, 23, on suspicion of attempted murder after searching for more than seven hours Thursday morning. Neither he nor the officers were injured.
Officers responding to a 3 a.m. report of gunshots were searching the neighborhood when someone opened fire on them. Police shot back, and the man ran away.
Gomez, of South San Francisco, was found hiding in the area of the shooting at 10:30 a.m. A gun hasn't been located.
Representatives from the South San Francisco Police Department were not immediately available to provide more details.

KNTV reports that the South San Francisco police officers returned fire about 3 a.m. Thursday in a neighborhood. The officers weren't injured.
It wasn't immediately clear if the suspect was shot, and police were searching for him hours later in the neighborhood. Officials advised residents to stay inside.
