Tea partiers take over Madison

Source: TMJ4

MADISON - "Don't Believe the Liberal Media."

That's just one sign Tea Party ralliers hold Saturday as they gathered outside the State Capitol.

Thousands showed up including former Newsradio 620 WTMJ Radio commentator James T. Harris, who told the crowd, "No matter what the left throws at us we still stand strong in this state."

Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch also spoke to tea party supporters Saturday, saying moms "do the toughest work in America."

Kleefisch complimented Governor Scott Walker's decisions saying, "We are on a very clear path in this state and it's the road less traveled."

"In addition, one of the original founders of the Racine Tea Party attended the Madison rally."
Palin also attended.

when some of the sociopathic wealthy and corporations quit funding. Of course, that will be when their agenda is met. And that agenda would be to corporatize the shite out of every government agency, get rid of any and all agencies and regulations that are supposed to protect the people, and sever the social safety net-allowing the weak and old to die.

When Obama has won reelection, the Democrats have regained the majority in the House and the Democratic majority in the Senate has widened, there are going to be a LOT of fingers pointed at GOP headquarters...many of which will be aimed at the tea party for pushing the GOP from "far" right to "we make the John Birch Society look liberal" right.

At that point the RNC will call the Koch Brothers and inform them in no uncertain terms that the tea party's input is no longer welcome.

The particular blog you linked has a decidedly anti-Democratic slant; the author's posts are frequently pro-teabagger.

Another article mentioned there were people there from both sides of the debate (all sides if more than two) and that the anti-teabagger crowd chanted during palin's speech and other anti-tax, pro-teabagger buffoonery.

The rally is an annual event held around the tax deadline, but this year, the talk was less about taxes and more about Governor Scott Walker.

“Madison you held your ground, your Governor did the right thing, and you won!” said Palin.

Madison has been ground zero for tens of thousands of protesters upset with Gov. Walker’s attempt to cut most collective bargaining rights for public employees.

Many of those protesters surrounded Saturday’s rally, chanting during the speeches.

http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/119983119.html

The article mentions about 6500 at the rally but doesn't mention a breakdown in numbers.

This looks heavy on spin and light on facts.

The media is so liberal, that they helped georgie catapult his war hard on with iraq. The media is so liberal, that really, I see them inviting all of those really progressive talking heads on their shows all of the time to refute RW bullshite. The media is so liberal that during the kerry-little boots campaign, they allowed the swift boat liars on with little or no defense. Because, the liberal media who are part of giant corporations, some in war profiteering, knew that kerry actually had been under fire, knew that those who actually served with him were for kerry. I mean how can you put an alleged party hardy coke loving guy who never saw war against someone who was under fire? That's why the liberal media just loves making real villains into heros and heros into villains. They can polish that turd to look like a golden egg.

Like when Democrats unexpectedly win an election or a traditionally Republican constituency, you'll often find the word "stole" in the article.

There were protestors. Just report that. Very simple. No need to use hyperbole to make the Tea Party dipshits seem more important, influential or numerous than they actually are.

I wasn't able to go to due prior commitments (my kids) - but I just looked at video and pics - and honey - there weren't a 10th of the numbers that were there last year in the driving snow.

Looked like as many gawkers and normal people walking around the Capitol on a beautiful day as there were "teapartiers". Oh there were more than I'd like to see (one's too freaking many!) but, there most certainly weren't "thousands"...
