Walker budget to bar drug users from food stamps, Medicaid

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

For the first time Thursday, Walker committed to drug testing recipients of BadgerCare Plus health coverage and also pledged free treatment and job training for those testing positive for drugs.

But the governor offered no details on how the state would cover the costs of that or the testing or whether he expected it to cost the state money overall, as a similar program did in Florida, or save tax dollars. The budget, he said in a statement, would also drop to four years from five the limit on how long a recipient could be in the Wisconsin Works, or W-2, program, the replacement in this state to traditional welfare.

"We know employers in Wisconsin have jobs available, but they don't have enough qualified employees to fill those positions," Walker said. "With this budget, we are addressing some of the barriers keeping people from achieving true freedom and prosperity and the independence that comes with having a good job and doing it well."

The governor said the drug-testing proposal would only apply to able-bodied adults, not the elderly or children, and would also include transitional jobs initiatives. Walker wants to test all FoodShare and BadgerCare applicants but limit the drug testing for unemployment benefits to certain applicants.

Don't there have to be "good jobs" in existence in order for people to get/have them? What a catastraphuck of person. Obviously a member of the lowest common denominator class, to which an inordinate amount of the R party appear to be these days.

Glad I moved away. Wisconsin was such a progressive kind of state back when I lived there, sad to see what it's become since he came careening into town in his KochKlownKar.

I'm going to see the day when this all gets turned back. I hope to live that long anyway.

Walker is a moronic pig of a man/boy. He reminds me of an evil Eddie Haskell.

Every dingle time this has been implemented, the cost of testing was higher than the amount saved by denying benefits.

Its basically a bigoted assumption that every single person struggling with poverty, is a drug addict, AND the bigoted assumption that drug addicts aren't worth helping anyway.

If someone is down and out, and addicted to some hard drug, it does not offend me if some of my taxes go toward trying to help that person. They are still people.

I'm sure that somehow the Asshats will figure out a way to make poor people pay for their own drug tests.

Well, this is what we voted ,or STAYED HOME AND DIDN'T VOTE for.

I'm sorry, but FUCK WISCONSIN! You brought this shit on yourselves. Maybe, just maybe, the pricks will go far enough that people will be motivated to get off their fucking asses and VOTE!!!!!!

Until then, enjoy the fucking pricks that were put in charge.

We should make every fucking farmer and oil company executive who get a subsidy from the government piss in a fucking bottle.

Hey, as long as it only affects the poor and the "brown" people, the rest of society just doesn't give a shit.

Its time to test his administration for violating the laws of the state and to give each right wing hypocrite a drug test, what's good for the proverbial goose is good for the gander, you want a job, get a drug test, you have job in the state house you get a drug test.
This selective deduction and reasoning and discrimination is another page from the Ayn Rand /Koch Brothers play book of hypocrisy, deceit and deception of a complete failure of competence to govern and to hide the failure in job growth to means test an applicant.
I really don't think the Wisconsinites know how much this is going to cost in tax dollars and waste, because some Walker crony is going to get the drug test job, and the public of this state will have to pay one way or another---amazing.
Another scheme of smoke and mirrors
