ADL Urges University to Target Pro-Palestinian Groups
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) urged that the University of California target pro-Palestinian groups.

It was revealed, on Monday, that the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has sent letters targeting U.S. campus criticism of Israeli violence, especially focusing on the advocacy group, American Muslims for Palestine (AMP).
The letter was written by Seth Brysk, Central Pacific Regional Director for the ADL and is addressed to the University of California, Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi. The letter was then shared with her entire university's senior leadership.
The letter begins, “We write to you today to provide information and recommendations about how to respond to conflicts that may arise on your campus due to the recent conflict in Gaza.”
It then specifically mentions AMP, referring to it as, “ … the leading organization providing anti-Zionist training and education to students and Muslim community organizations around the country,” and goes on to say that AMP's advocacy for Palestine and for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) is, “ … as an an effort to isolate and demonize Israel and Jewish communal organizations. These efforts serve only to polarize students on campus, inflame existing tensions, and often isolate and intimidate Jewish students...tactics disrupt campus life and stifle the ideals of inquiry, free expression, and the civil exchange of ideas.”
AMP describes it's work in the following way, “The American Muslims for Palestine firmly believes that educating the American public is key to bringing about change in the Middle East. Because once Americans know what is truly happening on the ground in Palestine, they will no longer allow their tax dollars to be used to support Israel's military occupation of Palestine, the world's last and longest-lasting occupation.”
