2. Yeah, they can exploit them like Uber is doing.

I make no bones about the fact that I generally hate "New tech" companies, which are usually started by techie libertarian asshats, but Uber takes the cake. They promise $30-40 a hour, but that is before they have to pay for insurance (a commercial plan because your own is void if used for business) and fuel and maintenance for your car. They are also arranging car loans for workers, whom they euphemistically call "small business partners".

I have also been in a situation where I have been denied a job interview because veterans got all the interview slots for a particular position. I don't think it's fair particularly for them to get bumped up regardless of qualifications.
