Just in case you were wondering, what's with the flintlock McConnell's holding? It's a gen-yoo-wine .50 cal. smooth-bore Kentucky long rifle, with a tiger maple stock! An elegant piece, and the preferred weapon of Dan'l Boone!
McConnell's from ol' Kaintuck, of course, and he brandished a muzzle-loader - though not a Kentucky long rifle - at a speech before the mental defectives at the NRA annual meeting last year.
In the interest of full disclosure, I am a lifelong gun owner, though I despise Wayne LaPierre and what's done to what was once a sportsman's organization devoted to responsible gun ownership. And Ted Nugent, who is on the NRA's board, is just a waste of skin. And a shitty guitarist. So there.
