US Jewish hawks threaten to ‘shame’ Democrats who skip Netanyahu speech in Congress

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s allies on the political Right in the United States said they plan to publicly castigate any Democratic representative who skips the premier’s scheduled speech next month before a joint session of Congress.

As reported Friday by the online newsmagazine Politico, the prime minister’s Jewish conservative backers in the United States say they will be “taking attendance” of delegates during Netanyahu’s remarks.

Democrats angry about the premier’s speech – which was orchestrated by House Speaker John Boehner and Israel’s ambassador to Washington, Ron Dermer, without the knowledge of the White House and State Department - were reportedly toying with the idea of not attending as a show of protest.

A senior Israeli official suggested on Friday that Netanyahu had been misled into thinking an invitation to address the US Congress on Iran next month was fully supported by the Democrats.

It's not about Iran, Israel or the USA. It's about giving the remnants of the nation to the Koch brothers. Period.

Of the ones who attend. The Jewish Conservatives should be telling Netanyahu to go through proper protocol.

based on the fact that she is a woman.

We put Barack in and the rightwing sees nothing but red and shiny flickerings in their brains (like if you were going insane) when they think about him, it was too soon.

The right is vastly too immature for Obama.

RFK very likely was killed for supporting Israel, Shame him or FDR who without his support there would have been no state of Israel, he would of been ashamed of his role, if he had a chance to hear Netanyahu .

It's really a matter of loyalty test for American Jews. Do you side with Israel or with the US?

Who do you think the Jews own?

Yeah, Jews have all the money and Israel can afford to buy anyone.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

To criticize the foreign and domestic policies of any country does not equate to "antisemitism".

To opine on the politics and/or the political leaders of another country is not "antisemitism".

When you try to use that specious tactic to squelch the discussions that fault Israel's actions, you become antithetical to the democratic process of free and open debate of important issues. In future, perhaps you could try to find a more intelligent arguement to express your unbridled support of a foreign country rather than simply chucking out thes transparent slurs.
