The Emails, Sidney Blumenthal, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mercenaries

The Emails, Sidney Blumenthal, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mercenaries

http://reportingsandiego.com/2015/05/26/the-emails-sidney-blumenthal-hillary-rotham-clinton-and-mercenaries/

May 25, 2015 (WASHINGTON) The emails from Hillary Clinton’s service in the State Department were released as part of a much larger release. These were part of the Freedom of Information request filed by multiple media groups, including the Associated Press and the New York Times. So what do the emails on Libya reveal? First They do not reveal is any coverup on a stand down order supposedly given by the Secretary. To put it plainly, that is not there.

Still, what they do reveal is not just interesting to present and future historians, but very relevant to our current United States foreign policy, as well as quite likely the failure of some policies that started under the George W Bush administration. These have to do with the Global War on Terror, as well as the rise of the Islamic State. A few go back to the Vietnam era and have finally come to full maturity.

On a more personal level for Hillary Rodham Clinton (HRC), they do show a very close relationship with Sidney Blumenthal who was a close aide of President Bill Clinton and had an important role in the 2008 HRC race for the White House. This relationship is not unknown though. But it reveals that it is quite deeper than we thought. She did not win the 2008 election, and after she was appointed by President Barack Obama to the State Department, she wanted to bring him in. The White House objected, but she still remained close and he remained a close confidant.

HRC continued to consult with Blumenthal during her time at State. Recently she characterized this as unsolicited advise, but the tone of the emails does not make it look that way. During the crisis in Libya, both well before the death of Ambassador Christopher Stephen and after, Blumenthal continued to send her material. She passed quite a bit of it to her staff, for review. In one case. In an email dated March 9, 2012, she wrote to Jacob Sullivan, one of her aides, “This one strains credulity. What do you think?”

This email theorized that both the British and the French were behind the break up of Libya into two or more states. This was to benefit them.

Sullivan wrote back: “Definitely. I can share around if you like, but it seems like a thin conspiracy theory.”

This email partially reads as follows:

“1. During the period between mid-January 2012 to March 2012 officers of the a French General Directorate for External Security ( Direction Generale de la Securite Exterieure — DGSE), and the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS—MI-6) activated long standing contacts with tribal and civic leaders in Eastern Libya, in an effort to encourage them to establish a semi-autonomous zone in the historic province of Cyrenaica (Barge in Arabic). According to extremely knowledgeable sources, this effort was initiated by advisors to French President Nicholas Sarkozy after complaints from concerned French business leaders that the new Libyan Government was not rewarding appropriately French firms for the leading role France played in supporting the 2011 revolution against former Dictator Muammar al Qaddafi. SIS joined in this effort at the instruction of the office of Prime Minister David Cameron. This highly confidential effort comes in response to the inability of the National Transitional Council (NTC) government in Tripoli to organize the country effectively and deal with Western business interests in an effective and efficient manner.”

March saw the beginning of the second civil war, as many groups started to vie for power, including former members of the National Transitional Council (NTC). It was not just them, as some of the tribes had clashes with the government and veterans held demonstrations. The government is in trouble, as they are having increasing issues with keeping peace after the success of the revolution that deposed Muammar Gadaffi.

his was hardly the first email from Blumenthal, since he was involved with the Revolution from word the beginning, and how it was treated by Washington. Some of the themes in the emails reveal concerns on how to control the events in Libya and how to make sure they work in favor of the United States. This is hardly surprising since this is the job of the State Department.

The memos that Blumenthal sent tend also to be somewhat optimistic of the situation on the ground. On March 27, 2011, which is before the fall of Gadaffi, he wrote: “

“During the evening of March 27, 2011, individuals with direct access to the military committee of the National Libyan Council (NLC) stated in confidence that while the rebel forces continue to have organization and communications problems, their morale has improved drastically, and they believe the Libyan Army is on the verge of collapse. Under attack from allied Air and Naval forces, the Libyan Army troops have begun to desert to the rebel side in increasing numbers. The rebels are making an effort to get these troops as fellow Libyans, in an effort to encourage additional defections.”

This was a very positive point of view. He also added in this memo that Egyptian special forces were involved in training the rebels. The army that rose to fight the regime was nothing short than green and inexperienced. It was not just Egyptian troops, but also French and British special forces. Blumenthal also reflected in private some of the reporting at the time in ,media on the role of foreign forces. Another email reveals that the NLC considered hiring foreign contractors to train the troops.

The WoT is quite obviously continuous and Libya joins Iraq as a fiasco, with the war on Syria and ascendency of ISIS following in the same manner. Don't you? Don't you?

one email actually dealt with a "possible scandal." I use quotation marks for a reason. There was a car accident in Benghazi and some locals were killed. Nope, they were not wearing seat belts. Here is where Issa could have made somewhat of a scandal, since most Americans do not know this.

Stevens visited the families, paid respects, and brought money, lots of it, by local standards. State budget, it does not even register. We paid for all, burials, future education of kids, you mention it. This is Tuesday for the State Department. They really do not want to have any accident make it to the news. So these pay outs are not uncommon around the world.

Americans don't know this. So I am shocked he did not grab on that as a scandal.

Now evil me... should ask the now former Chairman about that...

8. One thing neither party nor the MSM will do, is address the WoT for what it's actually done.

There's total collusion in creating a bubble.
There will not be an honest assessment of the situation in Libya before and after NATO intervention. There just will not be.
There will not be an honest assessment of the situation in Syria before and after US/friends-of-Syria(haha) intervention. There just will not be.
There will never be an admission of culpability. Never. Never. Never.

And for that reason PNAC plans will continue with nary a hiccup.

and the failure of it is clear in those emails. I shudder to think what there is about Syria RIGHT NOW. I do not think I will be around for 2045 though.

They are also counting on the willful ignorance of the American people.
