That isn't just a gold plated turkey, it's the one on the top of the Christmas tree where we put all the other military presents. I think it was about twelve years ago some retired rank officer who had been in procurement said that we had never gotten a weapon system since the 50's that we needed, or worked as specified, or at the cost quoted. The dead giveaway should have been trying to sell it as that master of all missions.
Meanwhile they are willing to toss the A-10, the best CAS vehicle since forever.
Remember that September 10, 2001 press conference when Rumsfeld said the DOD couldn't account for 2.3 TRILLION in expenditures?
Can we bill those in charge for at least slap on the wrist restitution for fucking up (or stealing?) so bad?
