who really ran the country under Reagan? We know he had Alzheimer's and that he was easily influenced by those around him - i.e. see how he wa a liberal democrat until he married nance and came under the influence of her very conservative father. This man was not making the decisions he was just learning speeches. I can not take Reagan as a leader seriously. I believe he was always someone's puppet.
I also have to blame the people who elected him after he so thoroughly damaged the tax infrastructure in California.
