While almost all the charges against Bush are valid, his plans would never have been able to be put into action if it wasn't for the election of Reagan in Nov. 1980.

Whether it's President Ronald Reagan, Alan Greenspan, Jude Wanniski or other prominent conservative advisers like Art Laffer, the seed of economic destruction is deeper than just blaming President Bush. George Bush might have knocked the pins down, but the Reagan administration set the pins up and got the ball rolling.

(5,946 posts)who really ran the country under Reagan? We know he had Alzheimer's and that he was easily influenced by those around him - i.e. see how he wa a liberal democrat until he married nance and came under the influence of her very conservative father. This man was not making the decisions he was just learning speeches. I can not take Reagan as a leader seriously. I believe he was always someone's puppet.
I also have to blame the people who elected him after he so thoroughly damaged the tax infrastructure in California.
