Former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman Sent To Solitary Confinement....Again!

"Former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman sent to solitary confinement"

Former Alabama Governor Don E. Siegelman was sent to solitary confinement this week at the Louisiana facility in which he is imprisoned on political corruption charges, according to his son, Joseph Siegelman.

Siegelman, 70, was quoted extensively in a Washington Post article this week on former Virginia Governor Robert F. McDonnell, whose 2014 conviction on public corruption charges was reviewed by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Siegelman was transferred to solitary confinement at Oakdale, LA. on Monday after the story was posted online, according to his son, who said he found the timing suspicious.

But Bureau of Prisons officials, who refused to confirm that the former governor was in solitary confinement, said that there was no link.

"The allegation that Mr. Siegelman was punished for talking to a reporter is false," a spokesman for the bureau said in an e-mailed statement.
"Due to confidentiality concerns, we cannot speak specifically about disciplinary matters of a particular inmate."

Joseph Siegelman said his father had told him that he was being punished for three infractions: running a business from prison, misuse of the mail, and a catch-all prohibition against behavior that is disruptive of prison operations.

An official at the prison said that the incident report was about a T-shirt that Siegelman sold on eBay, which was mentioned in the Post article and had been reported on in Alabama media.

Seems only Dems do NOT get pardoned or have the US Attorney General dismiss their indictment after a jurry finds them guilty.

And whatever happened to a a ACORN?

The guy that needs to go to jail, Karl (tweety bird) Rove is still on the outside. That prick needs to go to prison for his corruption and his lies about Don!! I just signed a Move On petition to have Obama free him. Let's see if Obama can ignore 250,00 signatures!!

14. Do you have a link to that MoveOn.org petition?

I'm unable to find any current MoveOn.org petitions to Obama to free Don, except for the one at the link I posted in the OP, which only has 500+ signatures, and a 2nd one by his daughter, which only has about 200 signatures.

According to the MoveOn.org Petition Site, these are the only 2 current petitions relating to Don Siegelman.

had already served time when his appeal come through and then went back to prison when it failed... Since this all started when Bush was in office (out in 2009) and Obama has been in office for seven and a half years, how is he still in prison?

He served a short time, then was released on bail, pending his appeals, then in 2012 or 2013, he began serving the remainder of his sentence.
He's scheduled for release in 2017.

16. When I signed, they were only looking for 200, but they keep increasing the goal

As they get more signatures. I agree that this petition deserves thousands more than that and I'm not surprised that they're getting more, but 500+ is not nearly enough! Kicking this and passing it on...
