My Second Letter to Mr. Trump This Week

I am a firm believer that we must make our voices heard. Further, letters to the White House will become a permanent part of the Trump time in that house (refuse to call him President), and I want to make sure my voice is on the record opposing this buffoon at every step of the process. Below is my latest letter...enjoy.

Dear Mr. Trump:

Not even the end of your first week as “Bully in Chief” and I find myself compelled to write you a second letter, point out to you that you’re not only embarrassing yourself, but embarrassing the United States of America with your (being nice) antics. It’s a very sad state of affairs when world leaders, one of our strongest ally’s and trade partners are turning their backs on you, your administration. It is deplorable that most people are using terms like bully, idiot, moron, buffoon, unhinged, delusional to describe you as the Putin Puppet President of these United States. Perhaps the time has come for you to grow up, put on your big boy pants, and realize that your whining, bullying ways that have served you (debatable) so well in the private sector will not work in the White House.

To begin your transition to being half human I would suggest you learn the political definition of nuance, and accept a basic fact…making deals on the world stage are not just a matter of dollars and cents, and there are far more important nuances to a deal than the proverbial “Corporate Bottom Line”.

Mexico just called your bluff, is not meeting with you next Tuesday as planned, your tweet destroying any chance of reaching a deal, an accord with one of our most important partners. Mexico is not going to pay for the wall, is not going to succumb to your threats and bullying tactics. More importantly, the majority of the people you are supposed to serve (not just those who elected you) are opposed to the wall; don’t want 12-30 billion dollars of our taxes spent on your folly.

A quick note…if you really want to curtail illegal immigration, I would suggest you implement and make universal E-Verify with stiff punishments for employers if they violate/do not use E-Verify. This would turn off the jobs magnet that keeps people of the world flocking to America for a better life.

You have made so many missteps this week, offended so many people that it’s an almost overwhelming task cherry picking the ones to address.

You lost the Popular Vote by a wide margin of almost 3 million votes to Hillary Rodham Clinton…get over it! We the people have no interest in seeing millions of our tax dollars being spent on an investigation to tell us what we already know. There were not 3-5 million unlawful votes cast, and if truth be told, you are raising this Red Herring to A) take the spotlight off of the investigation into how the election was stolen, and what part your staff played in it, and B) to pave the way for Republicans to create more laws and rules in the name of “Voter Suppression”. SHAME ON YOU.

Curious here…don’t you think common courtesy would dictate that some of the key members of your cabinet (Secretary of Defense) be given a heads up before you race out to the press to announce that you think torture works, should be incorporated into our Homeland Security tool box to combat terrorism? Oh, I almost forgot, nuance does not exist in your world, and you obviously lack the basic skill of thinking before you speak and/or tweet.

You tweeted to Chicago that you are prepared to send in the troops…so, your way of dealing with issues of Civil Disturbance, or the tragic murder rate in Chicago is to threaten Marshall Law? Could you do all of us a favor and have one of your staff scratch out the word Commander in “Commander in Chief” and replace it with the word Dictator? It’s only fair that we accurately portray how you see yourself, and think that small change appropriate.

Not even sure where to begin when it comes to your position on refugees. You have zero compassion for anyone but yourself, and maybe your offspring, and obviously the “Statue of Liberty” standing proudly in the New York harbor and what it stands for, represents means nothing to you. Extreme Vetting is something that should have been done with you long before Election Day…perhaps if it had been, we as a nation would not be suffering your idiocy, your ego, and your belief that your judgement is infallible. I would ask you to show some heart for these refugees escaping war, but you have made it apparent you have no heart.

Have you looked at your polls after only three days in office? They are the worst America has seen since President Dwight D. Eisenhower! You see yourself as not just a President, but as the leader of some great movement. That movement of yours Mr. Trump never existed was a mirage and even if it had existed its crumbling right before your eyes and you are too arrogant to even see it. You are fast becoming a national joke and embarrassment, and if you do not change course drastically and immediately, that will be your legacy.

I’d like to believe you would actually read this letter which is being sent to your White House email address, but I know that you will not. I am one of the little people who you have routinely walked on and over your entire life, one of those you use and abuse to get what you think you deserve. What you deserve is being held accountable for your lies, your poor judgement, and your crimes against humanity, and I actually pray for that reality each and every day.

Respectfully,

Sherwood Martinelli
