Will the Presidency Survive This President?

Mr. Trumpís recklessness may force Congress or the
courts to constrain him, diminishing the power of the office.

'As President Trump stumbled from crisis to crisis this past week, he reminded the country of a lesson it didnít really need to learn: A presidentís greatest asset is trust. Once he has lost it, he canít govern. Mr. Trumpís serial recklessness may change not just the course of his presidency but also the office itself. Whatever happens to him, itís not too soon to wonder what will happen to the presidency when heís gone.

For decades, the power of the executive branch has been growing, a trend that Congress has encouraged, both actively and by default. And the courts, the other check on the executive, have often been willing to defer to the presidentís prerogatives.

But President Trumpís words and actions are straining the relationship between the executive and the other branches of government in ways that may ultimately diminish the power of the office. By showing heís unworthy of the trust that a president customarily enjoys, Mr. Trump has essentially been daring Congress, the courts and even the bureaucracy to act against him.

And those institutions are taking him on.'>>>

2. redumbliCONs have already destroyed our government and many of the American people.

The redumbliCON trickle down pain, suffering and death is yet to be felt if their half assed save the wealthiest healthcare plan is rammed through their Congress. It will take years and perhaps decades to repair the damage that will be done by these lying bastards. drumpf, his family and administration have ruined the presidency and our standing in the world. The gala in Saudi Arabia is a sham and disgrace.

5. we might need one or two more constitutional requirements for presidents...

I think ten years of public service in elected office at the national level or some equivalent in military service like three or four star general.

Being a trust fund baby who has been surrounded by yes men and servants their whole lives clearly is inadequate preparation.
