Nice catch there, Gerson. Thanks for taking account of the painfully obvious. Got any ideas about what we should do about it? Or is that column a couple of years down the road?

If you can make someone the "other" and see some gain from doing so, a lot of people will.
In the case of conservatives, they don't always need to see the gain. There's a degree of cruelty that seems just as satisfying like the "let them die" chant about health care reform that wasn't aimed at any specific race, religion, or nation.
