Would a "Checkers" speech save Trump?

Even though I don't believe he has it in him, I'm sure he has aides broaching the topic that a "Checkers" speech could change the tide. I believe an authentic speech could change the tide for him. However, it would require him to be humbled and to tell the truth. Two things that will never happen...

There would be ZERO benefit afforded to 'we, the people' by keeping *45 around 1second longer than is absolutely necessary...

Unless of course people want to spend the next few decades living in
an all white, evangelical, 3rd world Kleptocracy

Subject to martial law and reinstatement of the Sedition Act just so
*45 can imprison all who dare oppose the almighty dick-tater ...

It is far more important to find a way
to SAVE the People & the Constitution FROM *45....

Who gives a fuck about saving him /his job
Just so he can continue to wreak havoc...

the media could make him "presidential" over night--even if nothing about him has changed.

I don't think he's a reliable enough tool to leave in place though. He might not be able to stick to his talking points like Baby Bush did, especially during his middle of the night tweets.

even if he tried, he would say something stupid and dwell on his electoral college win. But hey, let him try. The video clips of his better lies and stupidities would be roundly ridiculed. Donald Trump is a pathelogical liar.

more intelligent than Trump can EVER aspire to be.

With Trump, there's a new issue every day ... and sometimes more. Nixon was also better at subterfuge.

I don't mean either statement to be a compliment in any way. I loathed Nixon with every fiber of my being. But my loathing for Trump has surpassed even that.

Trump told the truth he'd be sent to Leavenworth.

I have no idea what your point is, or what analogy you think you're making is.

and describe the tear-soaked pillow of his ten-year-old son, Barron, due to the unrelenting and hostile portrayal of his father on television on hundreds of stations, on the front page of NYC papers that he has to see when he goes to school, etc., and the "Checkers" effect would not happen.
