Wow. Through Rep. Scalise we are getting to see something that is rarely covered - the very difficult road to recovery from gun violence.

Yesterday, I took my car in for the annual safety inspection. I went to a gas station about three blocks west of where the shooting occurred. I left it there and walked to the library. Along the way, I passed several eateries where the shooter would stop for a meal. I walked to the branch where the shooter used to go to use the Wifi. I had seen him there a few times during the spring. I never exchanged any words with him, but he never gave off any vibes that he was about to do something awful.

After my computer time ran out, I headed back to the gas station. I stopped in the Walgreen catty-cornered across from the gas station. The shooter use to take cigarette breaks on the bench in front of the Walgreen. Once I had my car back (it passed), I headed for the Aldi across the street from the Eugene Simpson baseball field. I usually walk or bike to the Aldi. Since I had the car, I stocked up. Then, it was back home to run the laundry and get some painting done.

It was a beautiful day. You'd never think that anything had happened nearby.
