Why DO Republicans hate Anerica?

This devastating rundown of US self-destruction by Carol Anderson should be shared far and wide. It's an excellent short list of what we need to fix when the BLUE TSUNAMI comes this November ("Vote for your country, vote Democratic" needs to be on EVERY Democratic car bumper and yard sign starting Labor Day)

The perplexing thing is that the author, however brilliant in her breakdown of the problem, didn't answer the question "why?" Is it just short-sighted greed and servile obedience to their masters? (Russians and campaign funders). Or is the Devil a real friggin' thing??? (says the spiritual atheist).

It's an ego thing,
they hate us because we are not instantly struck by their 'obvious awesomeness'. we know their math (economics) and their science (ecology, etc) is bullshit, and 'we' make them look bad in the eyes of the world. (even That's BS because they're doing it to themselves.)

So they've decided that since we're going to be obstinate and not fall to worship at their feet, they're going to turn the country into one mass grave.

This has happened before, in the Roman and other empires. (Germany in the '30's comes to mind.)

Ignore them at your own peril.

This is a serious sociological question. Were they always there and simply flared up via:

– Frustration with increasing overpaid/underpaid divide? (and zero analysis as to why and thus prone to blame, crazily, other struggling Americans rather than Wall Street)

– Internet enabling amplification of crazy social media posts.

– Russian trolls.

– Facebook failing to hire human editors to oversee fake news/ads.

– Trump as role model

– The usual self-serving Republican eatablishment willing to exploit all of the above.

– "Citizens United" (the most oxymoronic label in history), abandonment of key provisions of the Voting Rights Act, new voter suppression tactics, etc., all of which allowed the minority crazy side cheat the more rational, compassionate side out of a gazillion elections across the country.

That's the group that was most likely to support Trump throughout the GOP primaries and the general election.
https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/01/donald-trump-2016-authoritarian-213533

Here are some examples of RWA thoughts (from a quick test of that personality trait):
https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/RWAS/

The established authorities generally turn out to be right about things, while the radicals and protestors are usually just "loud mouths" showing off their ignorance.

Women should have to promise to obey their husbands when they get married.

Our country desperately needs a mighty leader who will do what has to be done to destroy the radical new ways and sinfulness that are ruining us.

It is always better to trust the judgement of the proper authorities in government and religion than to listen to the noisy rabble-rousers in our society who are trying to create doubt in people's minds.

The only way our country can get through the crisis ahead is to get back to our traditional values, put some tough leaders in power, and silence the troublemakers spreading bad ideas.

Our country will be destroyed someday if we do not smash the perversions eating away at our moral fiber and traditional beliefs.

The "old-fashioned ways" and the "old-fashioned values" still show the best way to live.

What our country really needs is a strong, determined leader who will crush evil, and take us back to our true path.

God's laws about abortion, pornography and marriage must be strictly followed before it is too late, and those who break them must be strongly punished.

There are many radical, immoral people in our country today, who are trying to ruin it for their own godless purposes, whom the authorities should put out of action.

Our country will be great if we honor the ways of our forefathers, do what the authorities tell us to do, and get rid of the "rotten apples" who are ruining everything.

This country would work a lot better if certain groups of troublemakers would just shut up and accept their group's traditional place in society.

Many of them happen to be white "born again" Christians, not surprising given those RWA ideas shown above. They were a whopping 26% of all GE voters, supporting Trump over Clinton 80% to 16%. (If not for them, Hillary would've handily won the "white vote" too.)
http://edition.cnn.com/election/results/exit-polls

They've had years of reinforcement from FOX News and other right-wing sources, so that hasn't helped.

RWA is a worldwide problem that has probably existed since the dawn of humanity. Better education and exposure to other cultures reduces it, but that can be difficult when RWA's keep themselves in a bubble.

On a related note, the Jews were under propaganda attack in Germany (and elsewhere) for many decades before Hitler and the Nazis were in power.

Liberals have been the decades-long RWA scapegoat in this country. The fact that liberals bemoaned Trump so much made them especially pleased. If you spent much time reading comments on general message boards after the election, you surely noticed that the main comments from Trump voters was that the election made the liberals "whine" and "cry" so much.

America would be just fine if it were entirely Fascist. Their form of Fascism, of course!

PS. It should be clear why they hate Democracy. Under such a government, none of them could get elected to public office.

Although it is true that African Americans, Latinos and Asians have been oppressed by RWAs for centuries – and more viciously than, say, the Irish or Italians. But it's ABOUT scapegoating and exploitation of labor, not skin color. (Why? Because all people are inherently beautiful, intelligent and strong if given the chance to thrive.)

Yes.

In a way.

The bible talks about the followers of Jesus being his body after he left this world.

So, he's not here anymore, but his followers make up his eyes and hands and feet, continuing his presence and mission in the world.

That's the story.

But if you pay attention to what they do, say, and support, it's pretty obvious that this so-called 'body of Christ' is actually the body of the other guy.

There's no red guy with horns and a tail but there is a 'body of Satan' -- you do the work, you deserve the job title.
