Why women comediennes scare people

I’m not surprised by the uproar caused by a comedienne skewering the press and WHPS; although I am amused by the hypocrisy of those offended. Michelle Wolf’s pointed joke about Sarah H. Sanders wiping ashes of burned facts turned to lies on like eye make-up every morning and then spewing those lies to the subservient press joked “CNN, you broke it!”

Michelle Wolf definitely didn’t act like a “lady.” A lady demurs to speak and then only behind her hand. Christian patriarchy has women divided into 3 categories; sex object, mother or child. These roles allow men all freedom and chain women to the basement of life. Women won the right to vote only 98 years ago. There have only been 331 women in Congress since they have been allowed into the halls of power.

The word “allow” is important. Women have been subjected to ducking stools (waterboarding), gagging, and “gossip's/scold’s bridles” for speaking up. Over centuries, women have been burned alive and drowned for the crowd’s amusement and of course, as a lesson to any other uppity woman who would dare to speak.

The last line of the article. Love it. Another analogy is one Jean Auel, author of the Earth's Children book series, used. A piece of leather stretched out will never go back to its original shape.

Or as Helen Reddy tells it, "I know too much to go back and pretend."

It's been 46 years since the song, I am Woman came out. Our numbers are larger, we're smarter and stronger. We have gained some ground--maybe not nearly enough. But that means that we have more to lose, and plenty of reasons to fight harder.

We will be roaring louder and louder. And the louder they whine, the closer the White Priviledge Patriarchy comes to finally losing its shit and crumbling.
