Why Trump is so frantic right now

A Post poll published Friday showed Trump’s approval rating having fallen to 36 percent, with disapproval at 60 percent. More significantly, more than half of those polled — an incredible 53 percent — said they “strongly” disapproved of Trump’s performance.

That number points to one reason Trump is so frantic right now. Such intensity of feeling against him suggests there may indeed be a “blue wave” in the November elections that gives Democrats control of the House and perhaps even threatens a few surprises in the Senate.

Trump has been able to get away with the political equivalent of murder largely because the Republican-led Congress protects him, refusing to do its constitutional duty. It won’t call him on his many lies; it won’t investigate his financial conflicts of interest; it won’t hold his Cabinet members accountable; and with the exception thus far of the Senate Intelligence Committee, it won’t even seriously investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election.

House committees led by Democrats would do all of these things and more. The most immediate threat to Trump from the election is not impeachment, though we may eventually reach that point. Rather, it is the prospect of genuine oversight and serious investigation. Scrutiny is Trump’s kryptonite.

Let us return to the giddy days of February, 2016...

Leslie Moonves on Donald Trump: "It May Not Be Good for America, but It's Damn Good for CBS"

Contrary to what Moonves claimed in that piece -- "You cannot live without CBS" -- I have been just fine without ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and, of course, Fox. Lots and lots of real news reported by real reporters is available without those pretenders.

Those who aided TrumPutin getting into our White House should be remembered.

Some seem to be in a state of total horror and yes some revel in ratings. Whatever else they are media whether corporate or not are still human. The boogeyman is real is willing to get you when he can and is willing to scare little children. As more and more are going to find out very soon he has no real friends only willing accomplices in his anarchy.

...he knows he has free rein to do as he pleases. He can railroad Mueller's investigation, fire anyone who doesn't kiss his ass, and generally rule by fiat. I'm sure he's told that we won't let him get away with his dream agenda.

I'm likewise certain he watches polls like a hawk, accustomed as he is to TV ratings.

are from the officially sponsored propaganda network, FOX. His advisors keep all bad news from him, so he has no access to actual polling numbers. He still thinks he's doing a great job, and anyone who depends on FOX for their "news" would think the same. At what point - if any - does FOX start reporting the truth out of fear of being totally left behind by factual networks?

about his physical health. He apparently sleeps 5-6 hours a day, has the diet of an undisciplined teenager, and his volcanic temper is certain to create blood pressure spikes that are off the charts. His twitter rants seem to be his only method of venting his rage. He isn't religious, doesn't meditate, I'm sure bio-feedback is completely alien to him. What's keeping this stroke-victim-to-be alive?

We already know about his mental health, or complete lack thereof. He's never faced the sort of pressure he's under at the moment. He could always bully his business competitors, and have his battalion of lawyers intimidate anyone from delving too far beneath the soft underbelly of TrumpCo. The combination of poor physical and mental health, plus the absence of any impulse control, leads me to believe he doesn't have much time before his body gives him the finger, and he checks out. What a pity.

I'm sure Jared and Ivanka would get primo seats for his funeral.

Putin's pissed his oil sanctions haven't been removed yet, and trump hasn't corrupted the DOJ and the military enough yet to protect putin , himself, and russian mafia's bosses from them getting them soon. He may also be frantic if he knows all is money and assets may soon be frozen , and maybe he's already close to bankruptcy , again, and family members are caught in the trump foundation corruption scandal, and more people have video's of him doing really bad things , and he knows it. He probably doesn't even know the half of it either, yet.
