or even 2019. A democratic controlled house can IMPEACH Kavanaugh and the make GOP senators defend a perjurer. Make GOP play defense on Trump, Kavanaugh right up to Nov 2020 election.....

Reportedly the Repubs are, of course, trying to rush the confirmation before more people get a look at Kavanaugh.

I imagine McConnell is both mentally hugging Hurricane Giant Distraction and terrified of the consequences of blowing the disaster response.
