Married Women May Be Moving Away From The GOP

Christine Garcia, a 37-year-old stay-at-home mom, doesn't consider herself a particularly political person. But like a lot of women, she has strong opinions about President Trump.

"Maybe on the business side ... the money is better as far as I understand," said Garcia. "But a lot of the other things are very worrisome," she added with a laugh, as she pushed her daughter on a swing in a park in Birmingham, Mich., an affluent suburb of Detroit.

Garcia considers herself a fiscal conservative but a social liberal. She wouldn't disclose whom she voted for in 2016, but she finds Trump un-presidential and insists she would not vote for him in 2020.

"I tell you, I don't like him as a person," she said. "I don't have a good feeling when he comes on and when I see him."

I'm a married woman who left the GOP in the 80s. YMMV.

I can't see that phrase without my own interior subtitle:

"I like to smoke pot, but I don't like black people."

Oh well. First steps. Yes, "Trump is icky. Vote Blue."

They just don’t want to pay taxes or have their business regulated (though dumping environmentally hazardous waste near poor black people may be preferable to such people).

2. Mrs. Aristus, a former staunch Republican, started shouting at Republicans on TV in 2008.

She loathed Sarah Palin the way she loathed George W. Bush, and was furious with John McCain for selecting her.

She voted (rather reluctantly) for Obama/Biden in 2008, and much more enthusiatically in 2012, and proudly for Hillary Clinton in 2016. After Trump oozed into the Oval Office on a slimy trail of Russian money and cyber-trolling, Mrs. Aristus left the GOP for good. Her political slogan is now: "Vote for every Dem on the ballot!"

could vote for that pig.

I live in San Francisco, and a surprising number of affluent gay men voted for the Pussy Grabber and see nothing wrong with it. Of course they make up a minute portion of the population here, but there ARE some.
