(12,712 posts)Trump has been doing a show all along and this is just ramping up the theatrics since it has gone so well so far. He has had a lifetime of practice, and, oh, what? He was on reality TV doing a show and learning how to grab us by our country, after grabbing other things most of his life.
It is also going to be a test. If they are counting on people buying into these sequels, then let's see if that works, too. I think this is the litmus of gullibility for the country now.
Waking up in this case, is not only seeing that the Emperor has no clothes, but that his reign is scripted.
I urge everyone to keep one thing in mind here, and I am repeating myself: Do not consider Trump as BEING a President doing a job at all. What he is doing is skillfully playing roles that are intended to condition the public, and that means both sides. And by now, you should all know what he is conditioning it for and how far he has come and what he has gotten away with.
This latest manipulation underscores that. It should be interesting how this one goes.

(3,131 posts)Why is there any need to review the Flynn case? Just doing the review is a victory for Flynn.
There are thousands for defendants who allege political motivations in their cases. The DA pushed the case because they wanted reelection or higher office.
When do they get their independent reviews?
This is different in that the motivation for this review is trump wants it reviewed.
I wish it was shocking that the media falls for this.

Seen in this light, the resignation of the four prosecutors on the Roger Stone case wasnt a snap response to a single instance of Barr overruling their decisions. It was the endgame following weeks in which the entire U.S. attorneys office in Washington was subject to badgering from a team of hand-selected political hit men, brought in to second-guess every action and undermine each decision. As the Times article puts it, these actions mean subjecting the office to a secondary layer of monitoring and control over what career prosecutors have been doing.
Over the last week, Trump has tweeted attacks on the prosecuting attorneys who set the sentencing recommendation for Roger Stone. Hes challenged the impartiality of the judge in charge of the case. He has even gone after the jury foreman with charges of bias.
But Trumps tweets were not happening in a vacuum. In fact, they werent even coming first. Barr had placed his review team over the Washington office before Trump began his series of 280-character tirades against everyone involved in the Stone trial. Barrs blathering on about how he was tired of Trump telling him what to do wasnt just deceptiveit was a reversal of the truth. Barr was already tearing into those cases. Undoubtedly, Trump was aware of what Barr was doing to rip up the paperwork on Flynn and Stone when he issued his tweets...
