(27,776 posts)Dick Clark was a legend. Losing him and Mike Wallace is just making it clear how little class we have on TV these days.

(11,801 posts)There seems to always be something to keep these cartoonists busy. There are some good ones here.
Though I will say that thankfully the last one isn't much true at least when it comes to power.
McCarthy ruined lives. The only thing West is ruining is his reputation (or whatever semblance of one he has).

(17,458 posts)Here's an article that will give you the lowdown on why he's news this week:

Rep. Allen West channeled Joe McCarthy in a town hall event in Florida that hes heard that up to 80 House Democrats are Communist Party members, the Palm Beach Post reports.
The Florida Republican, and tea party favorite, made the comments while speaking in Jensen Beach, Fla. Tuesday evening.
In a video clip of the event posted Wednesday, West was responding a question from a constituent asking What percentage of the American legislature do you think are card-carrying Marxists?
Thats a fair question. I believe theres about 78 to 81 members of the Democratic Party that are members of the Communist Party, West says in the video.
