"The alternate reality created by Fox News, social media, and Trump has achieved a critical mass among such a significant percentage of the population that the alternative reality has achieved its own reality. It is now a fully closed loop that has a big enough media presence and a sizable enough audience that it takes whatever it needs from the host organism without worry that it can be excised. It has metastasized to the point where we, as a nation, can no longer cut out the cancer. It is beyond curing.
